Ok after much deliberation with the OH we have seen an avondale Dart 556-6 2008 model. Now i have done a forum search on here and a few other forums(please forgive me) and there does seem to be a few cases of cracked panels on the 2004 to 2006 models. My question to mainly avondale people on here is have thyey solved this problem and is it quite a common problem?

I only ask because after showing the OH the Coachman she said there were parts of that van she found wrong, so ive shown her the Dart and so far so good.

As another question have anyone had any dealings with JR Leisure anywhere but mainly the site at Radcliffe Manchester.

Many Thanks in advance

Not been on forum long but have posted about Avondale cracked panels on here and on several other sites.
Will try to update as I proceed to get these sorted (2005 AVONDALE ARGENTE 530/5)
TYPE IN 'AVONDALE CRACKED PANELS' ON A GOOD SEARCH ENGINE,

We had an Avondale Bianco 2004 (bought new) Our front panel cracked in several places after about 14 months! After doing a search as you did we found it to be quite a common problem on Avondales.

We decided rather than have the new front panel replaced and never feel the same about the caravan, we traded it in for a Bailey Ranger 550/6 - We are very happy with it and have had no problems with it.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick replies ive googled this as you suggest and from what i can see they have changed the front and reafr panels as of 2007 and this is why i asked the question of the effectiveness of the changes made.

I really hope that they have because the wife is mega fussy about new vans and we have been down every road regarding bailey ,ace , and most of the other makers out there and the avondale dart is the only van she has been in and said yes i like this so when i read about the panels my heart sank as i really want a new van and thought id sorted it along with a very good deal from jr leisure.

thanks again

We bought a Dart 556 October last year and have one of the 2007 models as we preferred the decor (kids 2 and 7 with sticky fingers). We love the layout and have had no problems. The fixed bunks to the rear are great and a good size unlike many other fixed bunks. With a post 2007 model you will be fine!
