ok gary here . avg is run from a flat on a little street here in newark ,

Sounds about right, phone number don't work either, I rang a retailer to get a number but that's jammed solid. From that call got an email address, telephone at avg.com but email ignored after ten days or still working it's way up from the bottom of a very big pile!. Finally got through via sales to  support at avg.com and this was the reply;

Dear Sir/Madam,

thank you for your email.

We have analyzed the webpage you have reported us and we can confirm,

that the detection is correct.

If we can be further assistance please feel free to contact us again.

What a lot of use that was so took them up on their kind offer and sent off a right snotty reply but basically asking them to elaborate. Another week and at last something useful, a copy of the alledged problem source code. It then took my mate about 10 minutes to remove this errant bit of source code that only AVG could find or concern itself with. Total time over a month, and that's not counting time taken finding someone one to actually email?

From all your kind replies it seems AVG is now satisfied my tiny little site is clean and apparently free of its links with the Russian mafia!

Once again thanks much folks

This whole saga reminds me of old Windows 3.11 with Quemm I think it was bringing out a super duper memory maker to speed up Windows. This was in the days when memory was £30 a meg and 4meg was all you could fit in or afford!, 4meg nows worth about tuppence I think!!

Anyway when the dreaded blue screens started coming on a regular basis, Quemm boxed clever?, it changed the blue screen text to begin it's not 'our' fault but had we not been here blah blah blah. Truth was once you wised up and and got rid of it, all returned to normal and blue screens disappeared.

Me thinks AVG are on the same ticket, keep finding stuff everyone else supposedly misses and it makes it look good, until we all wise up

Suppose that's what's know as an accommodation address

I think the clue was in wording of that first email I got,  analyzed is the American way of spelling it!

I wonder why they chose Newark though? perhaps they thought with no phone and little to do they would choose somewhere quiet where theres some nice walks LOL

No problems here Gary. By the way thanks for the advice about the Drainplug for the Carver Heater. I have taken the liberty of posting it on here for other peoples benefit
