Hi I know this sounds daft but....... we are usually campers although aftera  wet 3 weeks in Wales last year my family have decided that we NEED a caravan.

Problem 1  our little car won't tow 1

Problem 2 we need a seasonal pitch close (ish) to our home

Does anybody know of somebody  or a  business  that would pick up a caran and take it to site for us?

I then figured I would only need to pay for caravan to be moved twice a year once for siting once for winter storage unless of course I win the lottery and can afford a new car as well as a caravan

Any help appreciated

hi there i have a punto 1.2 and a windrush caravan i have the caravan on a storage and campsite combined so the punto only has to tow it 100 yards, perhaps you could consider this option.

The dealer we bought our first van from told us he'd regularly deliver caravans to sites for his customers, whether he did this himself or subbed it out, I don't know.

Why not visit your local caravan dealership & ask the if they can put you in touch with anyone who could help you. Considering the insurance etc involved, I wouldn't think it would be a cheap service.

Where do you want it towed from & to? I know a chap in Cornwall who offers a storage & tow on & off local sites service.

Lots of sites do a tow on tow off and storage service, this may be worth a look.

You then only have to worry about getting it their in the first place, or ask a friend who has a towbar,.

Where abouts in the country are you, there may be someone on here who could help,

Hi thanks for all your replies. I did try ebay and a very nice man said I would be better looking more local as he was based in Cumbria ( I think ) and we live in Cambs. So I will try some dealers around here maybe they might know of sombody.

Thanks again for your help

Similar issue for us, company car policy doesn't allow tow bars. We were always going for a seasonal pitch and the dealer we bought the caravan from put us in touch with a towing service. Be prepared, its expensive, we paid 90p a mile for there and back. (£350 in total)

If you are struggling to find something local, it might be worth looking at local haulage companies or even something like DHL, I vaguely remember these kinds of companies cropping up when I was researching the options, they just treat it like a big parcel. Don't think you have to wrap it brown paper though!

Hi

I'm really sorry to hear of your dilema.

If I stayed near you I would be more than willing to tow your caravan to and from your seasonal pitch. I would only look at you paying the Deisel I had used.(if it was a distance not if it was a few £'s)

I'm sure there must be some one on here that stays near you that can help you out. I still have faith that there are still nice people left in the world.

Hope you sort it out

What make is your caravan? The reason I ask is that there are various clubs around for different makes (I belong to the Swift Owners Association) If you join whichever club relates to your particular make of caravan you are sure to get help and advice from likeminded people. Caravanners tend to be very helpfull people and Im sure you will get offers to move your van from within the club
