Not much change in design since the early teardrops in 1949, a sign that it is a good concept as well. No problem towing that with a Corsa, might even go on a pushbike! lol

now not that i am being totally bone idle, but with respect to a tow bar, should halfords be able to sort me out with one ?

And for insurance what do you recommend being that the Falcon is more of a Kit Caravan than a standard manufacture one like your Baileys or Abbeys

We are collecting a Freedom 1st Class caravan 630kg in July and have been told that our 1.5 Nissan Almera will pull it ok.  There is an older Freedom on e-bay, which you would need to check is if it is as light,  bids ending 4 July which so far has only 3 small bids on it.

Hi Nat, Halfords do do towbars but can be a bit on the expensive side, check your local area for towbar fitters, some of these are mobile and will come to your home/work to do the job and are usually very reasonable. Normally you need to specify that you will need a 12s(caravan electrics) as well as the standard 12n sockets fitted. Depending on what caravan you go for, the caravan socket is so you can charge caravan battery on the move and also run a fridge, as well as the internal lights on the van when hooked up, although if your van doesn't require these you could just opt for 12n. Towbar fitters in the halifax area.

Re Insurance, as we have an older van I wentto NFU for insurance, I would suggest asking the Falcon guys what they would reccomend as sometimes the 'kit car' companies know of specialised companies that will be best for these.
One company to stay well clear of for any insurance is E&L they have an extremly bad report from caravan owners, repairers and suppliers.

Keep us informed of your progress,
Papa Pip
