Hello again , Cath & Skatty , no the bed remains fully made up ( as a fixed bed ) just straps put over the duvet . Think of the 6 foot fixed bed that Cath has , now imagine that you could lift that up at the bottom end , move it through 90 degrees into the wall , the pillows now being close to floor level and the foot of the bed being at roof level . A 6 foot by 4foot 6" bed base now being a 6 foot by 4 foot 6" wall ! . Then in the space where the bed was you could put something else , maybe a table and chairs . In the evening just remove table and chairs ( dining area ) and lower the fully made up bed down from the wall ( 10 seconds max ) and hey presto jump into a double bed ( dining area now a bedroom ) and relax . Same system with Tv so can turn it around from lounge area to bedroom . Identical to a fixed bed caravan but with greater space during the day ( no double bed ) . I feel certain that this type of layout would really benefit a four person family , the kids could be drawing/painting/writting/homework in the dining area , whilst mum is in the lounge area enjoying a chilled glass of wine , and poor old dad is outside in the dark and rain shouting and cursing at the satellite , threatening NEVER AGAIN never again .---- Steve .
ps a lovely FULL size ( rectangular ) sprung divan bed .
