With the delivery of our new, and first, caravan being on Saturday I couldn't wait to go and buy a few things for it. Are these prices I've paid okay?

£205 - AKS3004 Stabiliser Triple Kit (Don't know why they call it the Triple kit when it includes the stabiliser, hitch lock, towball, towball cover, plastic safety ball thingy spare rubber gaitor and ALL bolts and fixings)

£59.99 - 110 amp hour Leisure Battery

£39.99 - Aquaroll

£39.99 - Wastemaster

£14.65 - Twin pack of Pyramid Rock Steady Mirrors E11 marked (tried them on car first)

plus loads more stuff, too much to list. Plus got an extra tenner knocked off the total!

So then, have I paid a fiar and decent price for my bits?

Bought from Waudby's at South Cave, next door to Wandahome.

Which reminds me, there is an offer leaflet circulating from Wandahome with a voucher for £5 off at Waudby's if you spend over £50. Waudby's have a pile of them the counter so pick one up as you go in! Or can use the code online!

Will be buying more stuff on Saturday when we pick the 'van up!

Hi Chaz -

The prices look fair and reasonable. The AKS 3004 Triple pack was cheaper there than anywhere else I could find. Many places £260+ so that alone was a big saving on what you could have paid.

Wandahome were offering us the best deal on a new caravan, and happily let us spend as much time on our own in the show van as we wanted without pushy sales people following our every move (which happened at Glossop Caravans the week before). We had emailed them previously and got a reply within the hour. Collecting our 'van Saturdaymorning. Here's hoping we don't have any bother!

Having now checked on the internet I think the prices I've paid were quite good, especially for the stabiliser kit and battery.

On a different forum someone said Halfords were selling the Aquaroll and wastemaster off cheap. I went into the Selby branch and they were £49.95 each!

I've found them the same price as Waudby's but not found them cheaper online when looking last night.

Overall I think I've done well on prices, the Al-ko and the battery I was pleased with the most.

What is the 'plastic safety ball thingy' for?  I know it fits in the hitch but whats it's purpose?

to prevent anyone hitching up with the lock in place

No idea what its for!
