Hi , This is the first time that I have posted on this message board so be gentle with me.
I am looking to buy a new awning for our Bailey Pageant Champagne 2004 model. I have tried to be nosey on site to see what awnings are best, but that just isn't me so I thought I would ask you lot for advice. I don't want to pay for a top price brand but just wanted advice on what make of awnings are seen as good quality / value for money. The size of awning we need is 942cm if that helps.
My own view is that with most things in life you get what you pay for!
I would prefer to pay £200 for a good quality 2nd hand awning rather than £400 for a slightly dodgy and weak new one.
I guess you need to know which are the best and which are to be avoided/ Somebody else will have to help out here.....they won't be long.
Another aspect you might like to consider is what material the poles are made from.
As good caravanners we are always looking to save weight.
There are more expensive options with some awnings such as aluminium or fibreglass poles. These are very much lighter than conventional steel poles. However, in a big storm, I am much happier with my sturdy steel poles.
I have heard of aluminium poles buckling in strong winds.
there not to bad now i saw the newer models at a shop and they looked pretty good but make sure everything is corect on the box b4 you leave as a friend we met the other day had some of their stuff missing
