Hi

My Dad has just bought a new caravan- not brand new. I

ts a 1995 Sprite Eccles Emerald Elite, he was driving a Citroen Picasso 2.0HDI but it only has a curb weight of 1300kg which limited his choice of caravans.( he originally was going to buy a Coachman Genius but it had a MPTW of 1340kg) The Spite has a MPTW of 1260kg so to be on the safe side bought a 2.0DTI Vauxhall Vectra. We have checked on what tow car etc and the match is good but was just wondering if anyone is towing with the same car and what weight their caravans are and how it handles.

That I agree with- but with an awning, clothes, bedding, cutlerly, food etc this would take it over the 1300kg limit therefore making it harder to stop and illegal if he were to get pulled over.
