Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a decent Satellite Dish Tripod? I know that I can get one off Ebay but am not too sure whether it would be rubbish for £19.99. I would welcome any reviews off anyone who has a tripod for their dishes.

£20 is about ok for a tripod. Dont be tempted to build one of those stupid washing line things they had in practical caravan. I got one for £20 off ebay and its great. Just look at the thickness of the poles.

If this is what you are looking for .. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5232-2978-1/1?AID=9479574&PID=1428744&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Satellite-tripod-for-sky-dish-camping-caravan-

Thank you very much for that Sean it does look as if the poles are quite thick so I will give it a go.

Hi!
This is my first post, and the topic caught my eye!
I just use an old camera tripod that I had unused up in my attic. I peg it down with rock pegs, & it survived a week-end of 60 mile an hour winds in Cornwall last week! So, check out your attic, or maybe try to pick up a cheap one secondhand?

Just as an addition to the previous comments, earlier in the year I used an old camera tripod to see if my system worked OK, which it did.
Moved on and decided to get a dedicated tripod which was the one described by kenwood33, really good bit of kit, well made and lightweight with securing pegs provided! would recommend it as a good buy.

Hi,

We use the rotary tripod washing line (£17.00) and the dish brackets to the top of the pole with a u-bolt. works superb for the washing and dish at the same time and means we dont have to lug another piece of kit around.

Ian.

Thank you to all that have posted a comment on my Tripod search. I have actually just bought one off Ebay for £19.99. It looks quite sturdy enough to do just the job for me so I will post on here when anyone wants to know what the tripod is built like etc.

You wont be disappointed, it is nice and sturdy and easy to use.
I bought mine from them along with the dish and sat finder.
I also got a second hand 12 volt sat receiver from ebay.

I was going for the £79,99 camping set from maplins.
But after searching ebay i have a much better set up with a bigger dish and tripod for a few pence more. :)
