you'd better catch hold of a trailer and practice on an industrial estate near you after they've all gone home ...especially reversing

I would get in touch with a training school ASAP, My OH did hers about 4 months ago and she had to have 3 days training before taking it, SHe is a coach driver and has also had 7 years towing experiance and she said the 3 days coaching really helped.
Its not just a case of turning up and doing a bit of driving.

Sorry to be pessimistic but you will need some tuition first, There are a lot of local schools around doing B+E Training now. Although not sure you will get some one at such short notice,

You need to cancel your test ASAP otherwise you are wasting your money.

Get in touch with a local driving school and book some lessons, the B+E test is a FULL driving test with the addition of a reversing exercise into a marked out area plus hitching and un- hitching

Luckily I passed my Test many moons ago so don't need to take the B + E test.

I'm a fully qualified driving instructer and have been towing lots of different caravans, trailer tents, folding campers, with a variety of cars for about 16 years, and have done the C & C C towing course.

I would not consider booking a B + E test for myself without first getting some proper instruction from a qualified B + E trainer.

I will be very interested in how you get on.

Hi Bordercaz,Hope you had a good holiday

Thats what I thought, its not just a normal drive either its the hitching and unhitching etc, I certainly would advose proffessional tuition

Where as your freedom gone, I notice you say Bailey Caravan now not freedom and your little pop top thing has gone off your sign off!

P..S Failed my ADI part 3 test on monday, was gutted was soooo hard!

Hi Gazmister. Sorry to hear that - can you do it again?

My much loved (by me at any rate) Piglet - Freedom pop top caravan - has sadly departed to a new owner. Although he was spacious when I got him, he seemed to shrink dramatically over the winter when 15 year old son shot up 6 inches and got too long for his bed  and couldn't stand up any more without the roof being open.

So I have a Bailey Oakmere 2 berth now - just got to get his little bits and bobs fixed ready for winter camping. The beds are big enough to use without having to make up as a double, and there's room for the blooming TV, X-Box, DVD etc on the front cabinet to keep son amused while I party.

Hi Caz,

Thats what happened with our freedom when we inherited the 2 extra dogs, 2 adults and 3 dogs in one they do shrink fast!Let alone now we have the baby too.  I bet you will miss the manoeverability though just picking the front up and swinging it round! LOL

I have 2 more attempts at my ADI test, it was my first. Going to wait til I come back from Cornwall next month before I rebook it, I have got til May til my theory runs out!

Anyhow hope you are well, Speak soon

LOL, I couldn't exactly pick it up and swing it around as I am but a weak and feeble woman - but the Bailey is only 60 Kgs heavier, 2ft 6 ins longer and about a foot wider - it's amazing the difference a couple of feet makes. And my Ibiza can still tow it if need be.

Maybe you should book it now, ready - the waiting lists are quite long in some places. Good luck.

I wondered where your Freedom had gone too!  Far too claustrophobic for me at 5 foot 8 square, I need my space lol.
