Is there anyone out there in the Lancs/Cheshire area canceling their pitch for the Bank Holiday weekend, or know of any vacancies for a car/van, two adults and one small dog?
We have been trying for weeks to book somewhere half decent without luck.
We are also on as many 'standby lists' as we can.
If I stay at home then I know of a list of jobs waiting for me - Help!
Are you a member of one of the clubs? You could contact your local centre if you are and see about joining them on a rally. We did this last year on a bank holiday after someone on UKCS recommended it. I never really considered myself a rallying sort of person, but it was better than staying at home. Once we got there, we loved it and have not used a commercial site since!

Hi,
Thanks
We are relatively new to 'vanning having come up through the ranks of tents and folding camper and only joined the C.C. a couple of months ago.
Of course by then most of the popular sites have been booked both for weekends and bank hols.
Found UKCS great so far for finding good sites, but no luck for this weekend.
Never considered rallies.
Might be an option.
I am off to Wyreside Fisherys in Lancaster, they did ring Tuesday to check if people still wanted to go due to the weather as they had sorted the Weekends entertainment out and also to let us know that most cars cannot be driven onto the fields, I am going in a tent so could be different for Caravanners. However they did say that some people had cancelled maybe worth giving them a ring.
Hi we cancelled our trip this weekend to Grindley brook nr Whitchurch lovely site right next to the canal , its a cl site you could try there good luck ..
Phone the Caravan Club and ask if they have had any cancellations. People have to cancel for all sorts of reasons and I have found the CC to be very helpfull in the past.
Look on the CC web site and you will find recently opened CL's which wont be in the directory of sites. They will probably be glad to hear from you as they wont have built up any regulars..We did this a few weeks ago and we had a lovely new CL to ourselves most of the fortnight.
We have just booked 9 caravans on at Elm Tree Cottage , Little Budworth, winsford near Oulton Park at very short notice for the bank holiday weekend ( our intended northern centres rally -Sutton Park near York has been cancelled due to waterlogging) . We are utilizing the rally field so there is no electric hook up, but there are good toilets & showers available to us . It's costing us 11 pound a night for the rally field the touring site is fully booked up . Have a look at their website www.elmcottagecp.co.uk the owner was very helpful & we'd be pleased to meet you , we normally rally with the South Lancashire centre of the caravan club & store our van at little lever nr Bolton . You must avoid at all costs doing jobs around the houseon a bankholiday weekend!!
Tried Wyreside and Grindley Brook without success. G/Brook say if they get any more rain they may have to cancel existing bookings.
Liked the look of Elm Tree but not without e.h.u. We are softees!
Will still keep trying.
Like rd57chad says I really must avoid jobs at home at all costs.
Wildie - Just who's side are you on? lol
You'll have no problem for a weekend without ehu. We havn't had ehu for well over a year. You should have no problem getting a site if you say you do not want ehu anyway. They will always find a corner to squeeze you into.
