We intend to carry on going out on trips in the winter and hopefully still be able to put the awning up. We went out and purchased a small (and cheap) oscillating fan heater yesterday. Now we are wondering if this will be enough. We practically live in our awning when we are away.

Does anyone use a form of heating, if so what? And do you find it warm enough.?

We have the vent for the blown air heating which is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard and is in the wrong place if we use the porch awning.Have tried a low wattage fan heater but that is still not much use.Obviously a lot depends on the size of your awning.

we have the same as you.it should be good enough if its not too cold.mind not to trip out when using heaters.

A good van heater is usually enought

We got no heater in the caravan so use a fan heater in the awning, it heats it up fine

Surely if it is too cold for the awing then rather than heating the outside, you could sit inside your insulated van.

If you were metered on your electric use I'm not sure you would have a heater outside in your awning. Would you sit in the garden at home with a 3 bar fire at your feet?

We have a fan heater and also an electric radiator and an oscillating heater. We went away last New Year and when we were in the awning in the evening we had both the oscillating heater and the fan on for top ups now and again. The radiator is ideal for use inside the van as we dont use our gas fire. We also live in the awning when we are away and really just sleep in the caravan. Hope this helps.

We use and oscillating Halogen Heater in the awning and the Gas Heater in the van. if and when needed.

Table top patio gas heater works pretty well and doesn't overload the site electrics as can happen when halogen/ fan heaters are hard at work in the winter months!

Is that not really dangerous? Do they not give off a lot of deadly fumes and there's also a risk of them being knocked over and setting fire to the awning?
