I think I'd rather borrow someons light board or pop round a mates & plug his trailer/caravan in than spend over £50 for a tester.

Basil the Emo plugs tester costs £14.99. Boom Boom.

Yes, Sorry Jim, I should have read your rely before opening my chops. I saw the other replies mentioning silly money & started typing.

To be onest, I always check mine by plugging the aravan in anyay. I've got one of those testers but I've lost the paperwork for it & I don't know which symbol is for what. I'll have to get the MIL to check a few wires for me next time she lands here to find out.

I just use a test light to test my 12n and 12s sockets, but I have seen a double ended plug in 12n and 12s 7 pin tester on ebay for about £14 or there abouts

Hello Forum,

I know I am posting this reply to an old thread but it is nice to see feedback about yourself and the products I created. The redundant link to Glenn Electrics was actually to a guy who stole my idea and manufactured and sold him own tester to the exact specification as mine, I know as I sold him his proto types. I have many more products that help us out with the caravan electrics, including testers that test the van, ideal if the only time you get to test the lights are when you are about to depart - and that is when tension and stress levels rise as you want to be off. all of them are on my web-site at www.tow-tester.com or you will still find me on ebay under the old name of Emoplugs

Thanks again

David

How do I test the caravan 12n plug using a multimeter ?
When towing as I applied the car foot brake the car panel lights dimmed to almost out. When I arrived home I discovered that both rear car lights had blown.A short somewhere ?
