hi

When i sold my last caravan the buyer got in touch with the maker of the caravan and found out the exact age.

As it turned out we had been miss informed when we bought it we were led to believe it was a 1992 when in fact it turned out to be an 89 model.

Thanks perry,

The seller lead me to believe it was a 1997 and for the £1250 he was asking i was well interested, But the age was not confirmed, I asked for the VIN, He gave me a number which wasn't the VIN, I rang him & explained my interest providing I could get confirmation of age & that I was enquiring with ABBEY (Manufacturer's) & this forum to get the date and then if everythings OK I would buy it.

However several Kind Forum Users alerted me too the fact that the Van was more than likely a 90/91 So I emailed him to ask for the Etched number on the windows & to tell him it may be 6 years older than he was telling prospective buyers.

He rang me just after to confirm it is a 91 model but swears its worth the money he's asking. Several users on the Forum have told/advised me that a more realist price woild be around £800 so I have walked away on this occasion.

Many thanks Perry, It is so so difficult to get a good age guider unless the owners had it from new or has the CRIS or original sales documents.

Im eternal grateful to everyone, You included that has taken the time to reply to me Help request.

Many thanks & Kindest regards

Adrian, Mandy & Girls

HI ALL & TY FOR YOUR KINDESS & HELP:

The seller lead me to believe it was a 1997 and for the £1250 he was asking i was well interested, But the age was not confirmed, I asked for the VIN, He gave me a number which wasn't the VIN, I rang him & explained my interest providing I could get confirmation of age & that I was enquiring with ABBEY (Manufacturer's) & this forum to get the date and then if everythings OK I would buy it.

He rang me just after to confirm it is a 91 model but swears its worth the money he's asking. Several users on the Forum have told/advised me that a more realist price woild be around £800 so I have walked away on this occasion

Its been an eye opener, The seller sounded like a genuine person & I believed he was being genuine till I told him I was unsure the age was correct & that I was going to verify before buying. Then he seemed to know it all already - Hhhhhhhhhmmmmmm!

Nevermind eh? But thank you thank you to all that replied, Im eternally grateful & humbled.

Regards & best wishes

Adrian & Family
