unfortunately some 2005 models only had 3 year warranty so yours is 3.5 years old there has been some problems with 2004-2005 models but mostly Rangers , had you bought it from a dealer you might have had a better chance of getting it repaired or at least part of the cost paid for , if yours was registered before nov 2005 it would not be eligible for the warranty to be transfered but the fact remains it should not have cracked . Has the van been serviced by an approved dealer every year if so i would write to Bailey stating the facts that you have maintained it and although the van is out of warranty will they pay or part pay for the van to be repaired as a gesture of good faith

Hi all! Please read my Bailey headache on help with Bailey Cracks. It seems that alot of the repairs that were done were carried out while still damp. I not a very good DIYer but to think of damp being sealed in is not a comfy thought. We have had to seek help from a solicitor and its now in their hands Its a comfort that I dont have the horrible experience of talking to Bailey. Have you all heard Bailey have invested £1 million in a new laminating plant what a shame they couldnt invest a couple of quid in the customer relations. My Bailey was bought for my reirement its 2 years old used 3 times and I cant wait to get shot of it but could not let someone buy a rotting caravan that after having the new panel fitted the damp meter showed 45% and before (Yes before) showed 40%. I hear from other caravan forums Bailey still havnt learnt a lesson with these panels but we must give them a little praise you get a great laminate as long as it doesnt rot too quick

Well we have had three Eribas and now on our first Bailey. Very nice to be able to stand up straight without banging heads, have a usable washroom and all mod cons - sheer bliss Old Eribas bomb proof - after 2004 started going downhill big time.

I also have a 2005 series 5 pagent bought s/h 2006. warranty was not transferable at that time .I have also just found a crack in the front panel,no damp fortunately.I do know that bailey do a "weld repair kit"but it,s not a simple DIY fix unless you are very good at it.

most caravan repair centres can do this job for you though. try caravanmedic as they do grp welding repairs

another alterative is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it spreading & scrape a V into the crack & fill with sikaflex . once you'v stoped water penetration see if the damp dry's out over a couple of weeks. If not then the wall board will need to be removed & the damp area dried out/repaired

PS I covered mine with a clear waterproof tape i got from B&Q

I would phone Baileys speak to customer service manager** tell him you read all the crack problems on this site and you want something done. Before you all start telling me abourt service requirement (and I agree but with mine wasnt worth the ink from the stamp)

Yes they repaired my van but didnt dry it out and thats my gripe.

You should ask Baileys what a service will do to stop the cracks. They cant tell you.

Also have you tested your van with a Damp meter? Meters are available at Band Q

I think all Bailey owners should invest in one. I had a full report on my Bailey at a cost of £50.00 then you have a proper job done just in case you have to take it further like me.

Please speak to the service manager** at Baileys as the more people say the quicker they might put things right I fgeel a little sorry for him but its a laugh to hear the reason why these situations arose.

** Sorry I do have his name.

Good luck
