I suppose you could use both at once......but why would you want to! Do you go out with 2 raincoats on just in case?
The AKS1300 if used correctly is a great hitch, the main issue here is that it has less than 1300KG loaded on, and that you load your 'van correctly
I have used one of these for a couple of years now and it is great.
The only advice that I have is......
1. Do not get grease on the friction pads or it will not work.
2. Make sure you use an alco towball, as the red bit will foul on the neck of the ball otherwise.
3. Download a set of instructions before fitting and don't drop the damper!! You have to knock the bolt out with another bolt so that you keep the damper hole aligned.
4. Search this forum for more topics as it has all been done before!!
