You lot have made me laugh with your comments LOL.
We are pretty new at this caravaning lark having only got our van in May this year and just getting our second last night. We started by using the beds as singles and each had a kingzie sleeping bag mine only zipped half way up hubbies zipped all the way up. Don't know if he was worried I was gonna invade his sleeping quarters through the night or he was just cold. That arrangement worked okish for a while but we missed the cuddles and decided to put the double up each night. Won't be going back to singles thats for sure and we just zip the two sleeping bags togehter.
I am not a lover of the sleeping bag as I hate being restricted so I leave the zip open on my side but if it gets cold I can close it up.
I like the idea of getting a memory foam mattress topper but wonder where you store them as they are quite bulky?

We have single beds and use really cosy kingsize sleeping bags. They are a sort of microfibre material which hold the air and are so cosy. You can either leave the zip open or close it for real warmth. I sleep much better in the caravan than in our kingsize bed at home.
Exactly the same here. Proper kingsize ones are wider than the beds so are not restrictive. I bought some really good ones at least 18 years ago and they are still virtually as new. They seemed a lot of money at the time. I could not sleep in one of those narrow bags. I need space.

We make up the bed but have sinle sleeping bags each, was fed up with trying to hang onto a bit of duvet every night, nice and cosy now with no draughts!
Well you lot talked me into it! We've bought a couple of sleeping bags...we bought these - they arrived today and are sooooooooo thick & comfy! Love the square shape, loads of room to wriggle about =)

I have always liked Vango kit as it does exactly what it says on the tin. that bag is probably too warm for the van though. as I know this year i have only fully zipped myself into my gelert bag once. The joys of sleeping 3 feet off the ground on a thick mattress with a fully insulated van around you

I feel a bit like that with Outwell..
I actually ordered those Vango ones last year but sent them back - for me, they didn't feel 'cosy' enough and I'm not a fan of that arc bit on the top - I wanted a straight top so I could have my normal sleeping bag.

Found another way of warm nights in the van and we can wash them in our home washing machine - 2 duvets! Obvious really - 1 under and `1 over - no hassle if you roll around alot in your sleep (thats me then lol) and in 2 bits so easy to wash at home. It is what we use now in the van
we have 2 king size sleeping bags zipped together so we are not fighting over space during the night, we always make double bed up if i want to sleep alone ill get divorced lol but each to there own

I think you did the right thing buying the bags. We bought a Duvalay for young Master Ulti-mates, but it wasn't terribly successful, especially considering the cost.
The memory foam is great, but the 'duvet' supplied within the duvalay is very 'entry-level' quality (cheap polyester). What tends to happen is that the little duvet bunches up inside it's cover and usually all ends up in the bit that overhangs the side of the bed, dragging the whole thing to one side and leaving the sleeping occupant with an empty cover where the duvet should be! Also the foot area has only a tiny semi-circle of duvet inside the lining and therefore a tendency to be a bit chilly.
We have abandoned the duvlay cover and innards and just use the foam with a sleeping bag - much more successful for master Ulti.
