new? used?... new i would go for the bailey ranger 460/4. it would make a very good seasonal pitch van and its mptlm is only around the 1100kgs mark. new you can haggle dealers down to around the £9k mark.

used well the world is your oyster. sae van as above on the used market at approx 2 yrs old would be in the £4 - £6K bracket. as you only tow it twice a year and only for a mile you could (not that i am saying its right) get a bigger van. i know i will get slated for saying it but for such a short distance, i cant see it doing much harm.

to get an idea of vans weights etc, goto ebay wher you can define your search by size of van etc.

                Richard  :)

ps , you could always do as we did, just track around all your local dealers and see the vans in the flesh. that way you can see , feel , touch and as questions.

cheers thanks for the replys i will look into both suggestions, btw im talking used as i am pretty tight ,paid £750 for this one all those years back with awning ect. not sure about towing a heavier van though im sure in the book its up to 1200kg or near.

the main thing is inside space , and also i prefer the big windows as we have stunning country/sea veiws

Have you looked at Adria's. They have big windows & quite light to.

http://www.adria-caravans.com/altea-overview.htm you can check the new ones out & then see if there are any being sold off second hand local to you.

for 2 trips a year, could you not beg/steal/borrow a bigger tow vehicle?
