I know there have been a few posts on this before but I want to ensure that I have the facts right.

1. Each month I can exchange my online Tesco vouchers for Eurotunnel vouchers £10 for £40

2. The Eurotunnel vouchers have no or long expiry dates.

3 I can collect vouchers for say 10 months and then use them to book a crossing over the telephone.

Where have i gone wrong or is it really that easy to get a free crossing in the Summer.

Last time I booked my booking confirmation was sent by e-mail not by post as it had been in the past. In addition to the information Marty has given I always go the the booking section of the Eurotunnel website and print off the times and fares so I have them in front of me when I telephone so there can be no misunderstanding! To me it seems such a bargain you do wonder how long they can carry on with the scheme.

Why do you think that the scheme might finish? It is a win win situation for any supplier who takes part.

1. Tesco is attracting you to their store with the offer. Obviously Tesco's reason for operating the system

2. Eurotunnel (or ferry operators) are getting business during the times when their trains (or ferries) are empty.

3. It is better to have a space filled rather than run the train (or ferry) empty.

4. They do operate lower fares but do not advertise them so they let Tesco have them. This means that we do not know what the actual cost is!

5. Whilst you are using them there is a chance you will spend extra money on duty free and food etc. which they would not have got if you had not been on board.

6. You have to go at the times they say so that they can fill the empty places.

Don't believe you are getting a free lunch! There is no such thing when business is involved. Nobody does something for nothing especially in these difficult times. What you do get is a good deal for you.

I accept all of your sound arguments but it still seems to good to be true! Although re your number 6 I have never had a problem booking at the time I want.

No I agree, we haven't either but that is supposed to be the principle behind the offers. Perhaps we haven't ever booked at a time when all the places have gone.

We do two trips a year on Eurotunnel using our tesco points and before that PO ferries

It was a shame when they stop Tesco vouchers with PO because i miss my Full English Breakfast

I've just booked up for next year. out July 25 return Aug 15.

Cost £244 (£60 in tesco vouchers & £4 cash). same price as web site.
