Just got back from our first trip with the caravan........all worked fine. Down in Deven/Dorset border and experienced heavy rain, frosty nights and gusts of high winds....so a good test

We compiled a list.....we need a porch awning [for wet coats, wet boots etc]

Interested in this made/model:

Any views from you guys ?

Cheers

We have a quest lounge very simular to the Tech-Lite. Got it in March, used it all season & find it an excellent awning. Easy to erect & well made too.

I have just bought the porchlite plus in blue at £59.99 for the very reason of kicking of wet boots and coats and a place to clean the dog up prior to getting into the van.

it"s a great peice of kit for the money.

We have the techlite 1..its a great awning...it stays on the side of your van with 2 little grommits that fit on your rail with an allun key..its quick and easy to erect..it only has one pole and this doesnt go anywhere near your van..so no worries about it scratchin ect..its roomy..enough for a table and chairs and shoes..bin..fishin gear in our case...it also opens up at the sides and the front so you can use it like a canopy/shelter...we used ours for the first time at Easter..the weather that weekend was a mixture of everythin..wind..rain..sleet and then snow..and our techlite withheld it all really well..i have told a few people on here about it..they have gone and bought one and are very pleased with it..you might be able to find the threads if you do a search..hope this helps..Sal :-)

We've also got this porch awning. It is much heavier weight than the Tech Lite - which makes it more robust but, erm... heavier!

We've had the odd problem with it - poles bending when trying to put it up in strong winds (our fault!!), and also last time out the beading came  out of the awning channel at one end (about 9 inches). Again, it was fairly windy, so that could have had some bearing on it.

However, having said that, we are generally very pleased with it - it looks good, there are lots of options for opening panels, and it has zip-in curtains.

Certainly worth considering!

We bought one of these at the end of the season, what a revolution.Weighs a fraction of our other awning and takes up hardly any space.Great for a weekend away due to ease of erection. For a two week holibay I think we will still use the old one as its far more robust and roomy.
