Hi All,

Just joined but been reading and following links on Wizards site to help a complete novice repair a damp caravan.

My story is as follows.

Bought an old Ace Rallyman for one hundred and seventy five quid in the summer.

First of all had 240 electrics put in then decided to delve.

I then found that the van is riddled with damp, started to strip it and after reading the wizards advice on diy and asking friends have realised that this task is too big for me especially as I have no under cover facilities to work in.

What shall I do now, scrap it,sell the fridge ,gas mantle, furniture etc on e bay.

I feel that an enthusiast maybe able to make a good job of this, can someone advise me please before I go mad.

Alternatively if there is anyone in the north east who is into doing up caravans then please make me an offer and take it off my hands.

Thanks

Pauil

Hi Pauil , how much of the caravan have you stripped out ? if it's not lots then i'd put the whole caravan on ebay rather than breaking it .

Are you sure you can't repair it , there's plenty of Fixed it Club members that will advise you , as you go .

The problem with caravan damp is that it can be time consuming to repair .
Covering wise you could use a plastic builders sheet .
Good luck with what ever you decide to do .
