My step father (who died 24 years ago) used to collect anything and everything,
He left me a massive ball of rubber bnds all joined together and totally perished,
a dustbin full of assorted nails and all rusted together had to be taken in a wheel barrow to the tip because i couldnt lift it into a car, and lastly, about half a mile of pieces of string all tied together mainly ogf the hairy type, the biggest bit would be about 6 inches,
The only thing i inherited from him is the obsession to collect things,
Unfortunately my wife thows things out as i bring them in
Regards
George

We put a shed in the back garden so hubby could clear out the garage. That was about 5 years ago. Now we can't get into the shed and the garage has had it's 4th or 5th clear out and No1 son still can't use it for working at cars 'cause it's half full of bikes, camping gear, the roof box for the car, I could go on and on. Hubby is of the same school as OP, just can't pass up on anything that could be useful, even brings home all sorts of containers from work, cause they would do for the nuts, bolts, screws, old tent pegs, drill bits etc, but they are still sitting on the diningroom table where he left them when he brought them home...what about Christmas dinner...are we eating on our knees? Oh, and I daren't bin them as sure as shootin he will want them the day after the binmen have been.
