We have a full and porch size canvas awning, but rarely use them.
We have a "Royal" 260 which in appearance is identical to the Ultima, and have used it all through our 'summer'
(joke)
We like it.
Its easy to put up single handed and plenty big enough for two of us + dog.
It was a bit of a problem to get a reasonable seal, awning to van, but after reading various posts on the subject, (thanks folks) that is no longer a problem.
Agree it is not as warm as canvas but if the weather is that cold we can live without an awning!

We bought one, tried to put it up twice, hated it and returned it!

I didn't see the point of having it if the wind and rain could whip in down the edges, we use our awning a lot and so do the dogs so we wanted something secure.

Yeh i've got a 390.

Found that we don't stretch the awning right on the horizontal part of the rail,i bring it down on the curve a bit so it reaches the ground nicely on my Avondale. It still manages to keep it's shape though and as everyone says pull it under the 'van to get it fairly tight at the sides.

It's definetly not a winter awning and i don't think these are meant for that purpose.Certainly doesn't retain the heat that a full awning does so thereby if you've got a full awning don't be afraid to stick it up for a weekender.

I've also noticed that it gets very wet inside when i get up in the morning on a dewy day,and as i often have the 'telly and stuff out there it's a worry.Been rained on a couple of times and seemed ok.Really then,it's a fair-weather porch awning that gives you great space inside and takes 3/4 of an hour to stick up and peg out if you're on your own with the missus in the 'van making your dinner!!

I have since foujnd out that despite the manufacturer's specifications stating that the awning rail is at a height of 238 cm, it is actually 232 cms resulting in the poles having a bigger bow effect lifting the sides well off the ground.  Very disappointing as the awning has loads of space and we were looking forward to using it.

Moral;  Never believe the manufacturer's specififcations.  Measure the height yourself.

Our manufacturers specification just gives the maximum height but that includes the status aerial, so the awning height was different, we actually measured it and realised before we ordered
