Thanks michael the only thing i have not checked is if its the switch for the 12v plug sockets

I would say it's likely to be a 240 volt mains switch rather than 12 volt, due to there being a neon .
I'd say it either powers a battery charger , outside light , water heater , or space heater , maybe even the fridge .

I would take the fuse out and see what doesn't work .

The 240v mains, outside light, water heater, fanmaster, fridge and battery charger all still work with the switch in the off position.

This is a tricky one that’s why I was hoping there is someone out there with the same van that could help?

It looks like the switch is for the electric heating element in the water heater.

I thought the switch marked up water heater on the top row was the only one.

I’m new to this caravan stuff but learning slowly

yes the switch is to run the water heater by electricity, the red (in black panel) three way switch with the coloured lights is to run the water heater using GAS when you are hooked up to electric set the red switch to OFF otherwise you will be using all your gas to heat the water, you can use both if you wanted to heat the water quickly when setting up but isnt really necessary.
