I suspect people are responding to the original post from 2009 thinking they are talking about a small penetrating hole. This tends to happen when people post on an old thread without starting a new one.
The new poster is referring to missing skylights blown away by strong winds, so any kind of tape is not going to fix it. Either new skylights will be needed or a piece of plywood, metal, or plastic will be needed to cover the holes. In my experience new skylights are not that difficult to get for most common makes of caravan. I had no problem getting them for my 1992 Elddis, although I did need a complete replacement unit for the larger one, which I ordered online. It was readily available though, despite my local dealer telling me that they were obsolete years previously and unobtainable. Kenmore caravans had them in stock.
