got a spongey floor (confirmed as we suspected its delamination) only had van 5 months from dealer. Its 2004 fleetwood colchester. Got 1 years warrenty and they said yes we will do it etc etc. But can't get it done till April 18th!!!!! Is this a reasonable time scale to wait or should i be able to push for it sooner? They have said the van is ok to use as normal, but i think nearly 3 months wait seems a long time!
Cheers Deano
------------- be good!but if you can't be good do your best.
i think it is a reasonable time to wait, the floor will be fine to use until then.glad you got the warranty.delamination has been found in caravans of 12 month old and at the first service.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
You'll find if you want repairs done more quickly then very late autumn or just before Christmas is the best time (same for servicing at short notice) as it's a quiet time for dealers. Spring time, as said, is the worst time of all - but at least you can use the van in the meantime - and if it gets worse whilst using it then it's still going to be repaired fully.
Not reasonable to me! Did you concur with this date? Tell them you want to use the van soon and NOT with the floor springy. They cant be more busy now than they will be in April. Get a bit tough with them, strong it, as they say in cockney land. A letter of profound dissappointment might do it. Tell them in plain english that is is not good enough, it's poor after care service. I'll do a letter for you if you want !
I would have thought it O.K. to wait, providing you make sure the company know that you will be using the van and how often, and if further damage results as a result of the time delay and your use, the company will promise to rectify all, to your satisfaction.
My mum and dad have had to wait for over 4 months to get their leaky arial sorted, its turned so bad now that the whole of the ceiling panel inside has got to be replaced as water has ingressed in, Good old Broad lane leisure, (I think not!)
Apparantly they have a huge back lock of work at the moment, More like they are doing peoples servicing before repairs as they probably make more money that way

Many thanks for your replies.I will use the van before the work is done. They assured the OH again when they rang with the repair date yesterday that we could. I will call in and speak to them i think just to put my mind at rest about things.
cheers Deano
