This problem has been discussed on here before and unless you spend a huge amount of money, there are no satnavs that actually take into account large vehicles. The lorry option only alters the time taken and doesn't alter the route. Garmin promised that this year's maps would contain this information but having upgraded I have found that they don't. Apparently it is not down to the satnav makers but the mapmakers of which there are only two. They are working on it but don't hold your breath!!
Best tip is if the road looks narrow don't take the turning. The satnav will soon correct it. Other tip is take a map!!!!!
We use ours mostly for telling us of traffic conditions ahead.
