Two weeks ago we took our 20 year old Swift Danette on its last trip with us
It was being taken in as part exchange for a lovely new(ish) ABI Brooklyn 460/2.
All went well at the dealers (Swindon Caravans) who were fantastic, very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, they recommended a site nearby so we could test the van out overnight and go back to them in the morning.
On arrival at the site (Mayfield Park in Cirencester) we were given a nice pitch and everything was perfect , as we were excited out the van we decided to stay for 2 nights, and had booked a day off work so we could drive it back on the Monday).
On Sunday we had a little snow (only about half an inch) but the big problem was that the site where we store our van had over 6 inches of the white stuff, so they could even open the gate let alone get a caravan in.
We spoke to the campsite owners and they were fantastic, they let us leave the van on its pitch for the full week for no charge, and we were boked in to pick it up this weekend.
Thursday approached, so I called the storage site and yes they still had a little snow but nothing that would be a problem, so I called Mayfield park to confirm we would drive down Friday night and leave on Saturday and...OH NO... they had got 6 inches there now....so it looks like its another week before we get to bring our new van home...
We are just praying that it doesnt snow much late this week in either Essex or Gloucestershire, as otherwise our new van will think she has been abandoned..
