I am putiing my caravan on a seasonal pitch this year and i'm hoping to get a very large awning that will stay up (hopefully) all season.  The only ones i can find cost over £1000.  Does anybody use one of these, if so, would you recommend them.  Also, anybody know who sell them ALOT cheaper, even better if anyone has one to sell.  My awning rail size is 998cm.

Thanks for any help

just be aware , althought they look nice, not always practical. me mum and dad have the pyramid extra width one think its 3 but maybe 3.5, its rubbish in a bit of wind, and they had to purchase extra bars because there isnt enough support bars and they not very strong, zips not best quality either so explore your options they thought, oh what a good price for the size and the quality looked good, ooops how wrong they were........just a word of caution.

Didn't fancy a Pyramid one, as ive heard bad things about there awnings. The one i'm most likely to get is a Bradcot Concept+ because of the price £850, which is still a wee bit steep.  Isabella do one but think they are way too expensive for me. http://www.discountawnings.co.uk/item/2944/2009-bradcot-concept--/  .  Dorema do one too which are about £1000.  If anybody have any of the above can you tell me what you think of them. Thanks.

OR, expensive awning or holiday in the sun, mmmmmm

We have a Trio Viking 3 mtr deep. best awning we have ever had, 1075 size, comes with 7 roof poles and has never let us down, if really bad wind then 2 long awning straps crosed over does the trick.

We have the NR awning and it is great quality. If you are looking to leave it up then the standard poles would be fine but if you are traveling around alot then the Fibre poles are great. We have a 940 and that came with 5 roof bars so no problem with saging roof and we also took the tie down straps which work great.

Dorema do one too which are about £1000.  If anybody have any of the above can you tell me what you think of them. Thanks

we have the dorema and its great,no problems,BUT fair warning if you do not fit storm straps and if sited a tie down strap as well it is asking for trouble.we use our straps all year round and we have been up at three in the morning placing extra straps.

We bought an NR Pulman last year for 560 quid and although not 3.5 mtrs wide it is just over 8ft wide but it is fab and wide enough .for us and large dining table and 6 chairs .You dont need to have 3.5 mtrs as you will have to cough up an extra 200 quid on average for another 18 inches of width .

Oh forgot to add that you can buy an annexe for it for around 90 quid with inner tent for sleeping or storage.

We bought the Bradcot Residencia, which is purpose made for seasonal use.  Apart from another Residencia on our site, these were the only awnings which remained upright without damage through all of last season.  We bought ours from Yorkshire Caravans of Bawtry - who were selling it cheapest in the country at the time, and it was delivered directly to our home from the manufacturers.  We also ordered an annexe at the same time, and Bradcot kindly made this in the Residencia materials at no extra charge.

Jenny
