Well worth doing, We both did it years ago, Brilliant, I never tow but I can guide OH with the reversing. I can even manoevre myself if I really need to however I didn't like the driving forward bit! LOL
Well worth it

What I have wondered-as a HGV 1 driver-what would I really learn from a manouvering course? I know about hooking up-weight distribution-nose weight-running mass-towing vehicle axle weights-a bit of maintenence (tyre pressures-wheel nuts-lights), etc.
I have been told by my insurance that I would get reduced insurance (oh!!-hgv is not good enough was the reply) so what does the course envolve???
We both did the CC 2-day one and it was brilliant. There were 6 of us and 3 vans, which was just a nice number for us all to get inidividual attention. Well worth the money (I think it ws £80 when we did it). Unfortunately I didn't tow much for a couple of years but it's given me the confidence to do it now I have to. My OH always used to make me do the tricky bits, though, like reversing onto a pitch!

I don't think you'd gain much, but you might gain something. After all, a caravan tows differently to an artic truck trailer, and reverses differently, too, as the axle pivot point is different. There's differences in the law, too.

when we did the CC course there was a HGV1 (20years ) driver came with his wife to keep her company and at the end of the course he was surprised what he learned
Hubby and I were looking at these courses until we discovered I've got to do my B+E since we got a bigger van so I'm hoping I'll learn the same stuff on that as the CC course
