Only three things to say to your comments Jim. (1) The warden was obviously not very interested in doing his job. (2) the incident described rather backs up my opinion that some form of carnet system making it possible to exclude the bad element is long overdue. (3) Failure to address the problem is going to result in even more private sites going "adult only". This will put pressure of higher demand on the club sites for pitches for families with children; with shortage of pitches already existing at peak times.
Whatever anyones' views about problems and cures may be, one thing is certain. Comments on forums and in caravanning mags have indicated that these incidents are on the increase, and failure to have remedial action will be bad for all camping people. I can even imagine the up-front demand for a hefty bond; refundable at the end of the stay, subject to proper behaviour. That could cause real hardship to the less well off campers, so a removable privilege to access sites does seem to me to be a better option, if things do not improve or even get worse.
Bertie.
