Some car insurance co's will give you trailer insurance which covers caravans as well. Only a few quid and may be all you need? No legal requirement to insure a caravan and if it's an old one you may need to consider if the cost is worth it?
Best to make sure your car insurance covers you for drawing a trailer/caravan but I'm pretty sure they all do - can anyone else confirm that? Try your caravan Club to confirm - if you are a member.
Household insurance may cover your caravan contents - best to check. Lots of people are double covered unnecessarily - they could reduce their caravan insurance if their household policy covers contents of van.
Best to check all the above but I'm pretty sure it's right
All car insurance includes third party cover if towing a trailer/caravan provided it is legal for the car to tow.
As stated there is no legal requirement to insure a caravan but for various reasons it is desirable so keep looking, I insure my 20yr old Eriba with Saga for £70p.a.
------------- Sell my camper? I'd rather eat school semolina!

Def worth it with an Eriba even at 20 yrs old. However some older vans only cost £3/400 so I'd say it's debatable - I used to have £1,500 of trailer cover for only £15 as an addition to my car insurance - that was when I had an older van. Believe it or not, when a window blew away while towing the insurance covered it with no loss of NCD as they classed it as "windscreen insurance" - those were the days!
OP may have a more valuable van but that's why I said best to consider - and also a lot of people don't know it's not compulsory
Before you agree to cover, ask them what value they value the van at and then work out how much they will then pay you once the excess has been taken off.
On the other hand, if this is your first van, it could be a cheap way of building up a NCB. On a cheaper van, the security measures they insist on my cost as much as the van.
Hi, we are insured with NFU, no problem with our caravan which is a 1981 and they were happy to insure our last van which was a 1979. We have been with the NFU for about 15 years and now have the highest annual discount rate which saves us a few more pounds!
Total cost for this year is £47 and van is insured for £1000 with Awning and contents at a further £1500. Not had a claim ourselves but know of one poor soul who did have to clame, all settled within 28days and their discount was not affected! Worth looking at!
