I am about to buy & fitt the above to my van that is fitted with a mk 1 powrtouch move. I have heard that this mover poses problems & has to be moved to the back of the wheels, involving doing away with the spare wheel carrier.is this correct?

I don't think you do have to move it. There is lots of info on this. Try a search.

Some of the earlier movers did not facilitate the fitting of shocks. It would be worth a phone call to Powertouch as I am sure they would be able to provide the answer. Fitting shocks is a worthwhile upgrade.
