We have a Bailey Ranger 460-4 S6 and we are going to get a porch awning for it. We have a problem though, how do we get electric into the awning? The only plug in the caravan in bu the cooker which is the other side of the caravan. Is there an connection thing that goes from the battery unit that will allow us to have electric in the awning?
To do the job properly you should fit an external socket and wire into your consumer unit (but you also need to cut a hole in your caravan ) if you are not confident then pay for it to be done and then you know its done correctly..You could run off your battery but you would only get 12v from it.
If we are at a site with electric hook up, we just have an extension reel cable (just make sure it is all rolled out as can be a fire hazard if left on reel while on) plugged in in caravan and then just use electricity as needed in awning. Hope it helps!
Is your fridge plugged into a socket under the bed? If so either change the socket for a double or use an adapter then add an extension cable - up out of one window and under the van to the awning. We run a domestic fridge in this way when in France.

other than fitting an outside socket on the van, you could................
install an extra socket inside the van and take an extension wire out through a window to the awning
install a socket in a locker that has outside access
use a splitter plugged into the ehu bollard, or into your cable before it is plugged into the caravan, and take a separate cable to the awning
If the power does not go through the van splitter the appliances in the awning may be damaged by too many amps which the caravan splits to different circuits.Could also cause overheating and a possible fire.
Fit an outside socket in the front locker or a correct one in the side of the van.
A vey cheap way to do it is to fit an external outdoor socket under the floor of the van - just one hole and no worries on water ingress through the wall.
Any spark should be able to do this for an hour's labour. Then you just buy an adapter with a 3 pin on the end and lead an extension lead into the awning.
The socket shown in the link is for connecting incoming supply not outgoing,if you use it that way you'll have live pins sticking out!
If you go that way this is what you need .http://www.screwfix.com/prods/40962/Electrical-Supplies/Industrial/240V/200-250V-MK-Commando-Interlocked-Angled-Socket-2P-E-IP44

We run an extension lead out of the window, most windows still lock with the lead through it, we have to do this as no fridge inside the van, so have to have lecky in the awning! It works fine

I don't think the appliances could be damaged by too many amps, but you will certainly lose the extra protection given by the RCD in the van.
I would not do it that way myself, but quite a few people do seem to use this method.
I don't think that a socket in the front locker is a good idea however....gas and electricity together etc.....
