I've taken the plunge! Off to get some brown tape in a mo and then tomorrow our covers will be winging their way to Tockfield to be restuffed with super duper very dense foam.
I have a back problem and our caravan is not posh and I find the foam totally unsupportive. No point changing our van due to family circumstances so here's hoping I have spent £560 wisely! No going back now, the covers are off......
It's about 4 years ago when we used them to fil two seat base cushions in our old van Ali, we had the TCS foam put in & they did a superb job. Julie posted the covers off on a Tuesday morning, they were on the phone for our card details by Wednesday lunchtime & the new filled seat bases were back in our van by the Thursday afternoon. Not cheap but an excellent service & top quality workmanship. I'll use them again anytime.
They also do a service where you can camp near the factory and they lend you cushions for your stay then pick yours up afterwards! The before and after ppiccys on their website look great. I'm sure you'll be pleased.
Another vote for Tockfield. We recently had our front cushions refilled with the firm foam. We have only used them once, they are very firm but extremely comfy. We are waiting to have the kids bunk cushions done -, have to save up! I took our cushions to them and they were done in 3/4 hours. Very impressed.
I rang them on Monday Basilbrush and they indicated their turnaround times are still pretty similar so fingers crossed it goes smoothly as I need them back for the 21st, our first weekend down at the van.
We are only having the front seats done for now, it is very expensive so the rest will have to wait depending on how successful these are.
They're back! Arrived by courier at 8.06 this morning, luckily I was up lol! Well they seem much firmer that's for sure, the acid test will be this weekend down at the van but fingers crossed for a better sleep experience than before.
Yes its alot of money but we were so pleased with ours. We only spent 6 nights sleeping on them but they were so much better than before. The real test comes at Easter when we are away for 2 weeks. We also want the kids' bunk cushions doing. But we have to save up again for them!
Hiya, yes I can thoroughly recommend them, my bed was fab last night but beware the 600 firm is VERY firm. I have a memory foam topper as well but unless you are a porker like me then go for one of the softer ones, I think they do a 400 and a 600.
Hi snowy757, we had the 600 as hubby is 'porker' and i'm not as slim as i used to be!, it is very firm but we both slept well! When we get the kids bunk mattresses done i think we will go for the 400. They go by body wieghts, don't they. I actually went to their premises with mine and was able to try them out. I think they had a 'softer' 600 weight but we decided to go for the firm one as we both suffer from bad backs at times.
