Keep a spare dog lead in the van,! We have forgotten  in the past and got half way down the motorway and realised as the dogs always jump in the back of the car at home without their leads.

Also keep yor bedding down there unless you are bringing it back for washing, toys, games BBQ's etc all fine to leave.

Wales=wet wet wet. So waterproofs, wellingtons, umbrellas. I should know we go to Wales every year and love it but despite leaving home in a heatwave once over the Severn the clouds roll in! Who cares now we have a mini caravan and not a tent to crawl into a night. The wet dogs can shake away in the awning and not all over our bedding!

Spare bedding definately. When we first started caravanning we always dragged the duvets off the bed at home to take with us until I had a light bulb moment and decided to get spares just for the 'van. They're cheap enough from places like Wilkinsons or Dunelm and we keep them in big zip up storage bags which you can also pick up pretty cheaply. We also leave in items such as cleaning stuff, washing up liquid, tea towels etc and if i get any smelly stuff for pressies i use the small shower gels etc from them in the van too.And a hairdrier. You will find out as you go along what is easier for yourself.Welcome to the world of caravanning! You're gonna love it!!

by the way my hubby made a wellie stand out of 3 broomhandles and 3 bits of timber( made into a H shape with broom handles then screwed to it) and it's fab-definately wouldn't be without it.It keeps the carpet clean as it stays in the awning or we put it outside in the rain to wash the boots!!

Also love our portable gas bbq as it saves a lot of smells in the van and we cook almost anything on it.
