It seems to me that most Insurance companies that insure towing caravans seem to charge about the same rates. I would be interested to know if anyone has found a company that has given them a good deal price wise and been good when and if a claim was made.
Have ours with Caravan Wise. Latest premium is £122 for £500 value of caravan but no contents, £100 excess.
Just had to make a claim from them as we were broken into on the driveway, £600 damage done. I offered to pay for repair to quicken up the procedure as it was over their max £300 to offer instant payout. This was due to the door being ripped off and lack of security. Received the cheque through the post today, around a 3 week wait so not to bad.
Our 1989 Swift Corvette is insured for £3000 value for £68 through Camping and Caravanning Club. £122 seems a little excessive for the value of the van.
We got good cover on our 93 van through the C&CC. £74 including contents cover. I think you have to be a member to insure through them. We had been quoted £131 for the same cover from Adrian Flux, so swapped to C&CC this year.
From what I have read on here, they are good to deal with if you do have to claim.
just renewed ours after reading on here tried caravan guard and adrian flux for our 08 bailey ranger with mover awning etc Caravan Guard £450 and Adrian Flux £248 there was a big difference but we compared everything and cant fault adrian flux excess same 120 days europe cover family abd friends new for old etc so we went with them heres hoping i chose better than last year before i knew of this site when i went with dare i say it e&l lol...... well not a laughing matter really is it!!!!
have had a good look at the terms and conditions for E&L and it seems pretty transparent for the level of cover we have , but i would be a bit more worried if i wanted a higher cover , but i dont think you ever know how good or bad insurance is until you atempt to claim
We are also with the C&CC. Can't remember our exact premium. £200 and something for a 2006 van on their cover for the price you paid policy. Was much cheaper than the CC for the same cover. Haven't made a claim but am hoping as it is one of the clubs that if we need to it should run smoothly.
