Used our caravan a few weeks back for the first time and used the gas no problem. Went to it today and the gas will not flow. Tried two different bottles which are both full, tried the regulator on and off loads of times, turned on and off the valve knob under the cooker/sink many times trying to light the hob rings but nothing. Dont know whats gone wrong. Maybe the regulator is faulty as when i got home i fixed one of the bottles to an old gas fire and it lit first time. Or the valve knob may have gone, and not opening the valve but it feels fine.
Im stumped
Any advice much appreciated.
Regards Graham.
Thanks for the response.
Its an old van 1991 and no its not a bulkhead regulator. Ive read the fault finding in the manual and it mentions an air block and needing to purge the system. Dont know how air could get in, in normal use and dont know how to purge it. Must admit i didnt hold the hob valves open for very long but you expect gas to flow instantly.
Graham.
Air takes a while to purge. If it's been disconnected there will be air in the system. I would open gas taps - all of them and switch off when you smell the gas. Ventilate well before use.
