I have been offerd a 85amp NUMAX leisure battery, it is aprox 5yrs old but they say it has not been used much as they mostly used electric hookup.
It is fully charged at the moment and seems ok, is it worth a gamble as he only wants £20 for it, i have not got a battery on my abbey vogue 214 at the moment as we use mostly electric, and probley only use it as a back up.
Although i will be going on some steam rallys for about 4 days at a time using only battery, i know i can purchase a new battery for £50 from my local caravan dealer.
If you shop around you will probably get a new battery for less than £50.00.
At 5 years old, I would think it is on borrowed time time.
I wouldn`t bother.
ANY caravan shop will sell batteries, and most of them will be around the £40 mark for a 85ah battery. BUT - If you intend to do rallies then I would advise you get a 110ah battery. And also get a 3 or 4 stage smart charger and you'll be able to get the charge up to 100%. the chargers in caravans only charge up to 80%.
I am sure that someone on here will give you the measurements of a typical 110ah battery. Then you can measure your locker.
We use an 85ah which fits in our locker with plenty of room to spare. I would think that a 110 would fit most standard lockers in a modern van though.
