Lol I know some times wonder if we done the right thing! But really we were mad to sign in the first place, it was out of our league at the mo, when the interest rate goes back up so will our mortgage! Then be living in the caravan!

Yes going to look into the small claims court, I really dont think its fair, and his letter was so snotty have no sympathy for him! Also hoping our credit card might come up with the goods!

I have just landed myself in the same situation wanting my deposit back after a NEC order placed 4 days ago.

Did you or anyone else ever get any refund of their deposit?

Thanks for that link Michael.

I am awaiting the dealers response to my cancellation email which was sent 4 days after placing the order at NEC [order not placed on Dealers premises]. Hopefully as this was within the 7 day 'Cooling Off' period there will be no problems, as I also offered them a £100 'Admin Fee'.

Will post any response that I receive.

Not sure if this helps at all but 4 yrs ago we ordered a new Challenger at The Lawns show near Hull with the proviso that our old 94 Swift 2berth would be worth £2000 p/exch and we left a £500 deposit. When we took our old van in after the show they said it had damp in the shower area ceiling and could not give us £2000 for it. We then said cancel it and they refunded the £500 without argument not sure if it was non refundable or not but maybe if you get to the 'bringing your old van in' stage the disagreement then is the p/ex value of the van not whether you are cancelling it or not if that makes sense. It seems from other folk that have bought new that the dealers always try to under value your p/ex van when you bring it in. A bit risky but could that be used to your advantage?
