On Freecycle this morning in Worcestershire;

I have some building work starting and I have no car with tow bar. It is a Fleetwood Crystal 128-4, about twenty years old and in fairly good condition. No leaks.

It is available from 9.00am this morning. You will need a fairly powerful car, as it is at the bottom of a steep drive--a 2 litre family car should be OK, as I have used similar in the past. It will also take some effort to turn the caravan around and hook it up, so be prepared for this.

The caravan is offered on a first come first served basis, by which I mean that first person to come and take it away gets it. Please phone on 01684 567710 before you set off to give me a few minutes warning. Do not phone to try and reserve the caravan. Please phone only when you are ready to collect.

By the rules of Freecycle, I am not asking any money for it (it is worth ~£200), but would ask whoever takes to consider making donation to Comic Relief.

What a great idea! Freecycle is fantastic. I've just given away a dishwasher, a roll of fabric, and two crocheted blankets, and got a brand new white shower tray and some rockery stone! Fair exchange, and everyone is happy.

Yes Freecycle is good but I have heard that people collect items and if they are of use then they sell them on ebay!

Be carefull who you give anything to.

Does it really matter as you are rid of the object and it is too much hassle and costly to advertise it, but I understand your point.

I don't mind, personally, what happens to anything I give away. If I don't want it I'm only glad that ultimately it goes to someone who might actually use it rather than me keep it, taking up space in a cupboard or garage!

The shower tray and rockery stone we got through Freecycle could definitely have been sold on ebay, but the givers chose to give them away - and so I do the same with my stuff.
