Hi everyone,
I usually post in the tenters section, but we are on the verge of handing over the cash on a Lunar Chateau 400 (we may do this later this afternoon). Is there anyone out there who has one of these vans that can offer up any comments - good or bad. We have looked at a 400 and a 450 and prefer the layout of the 400 as there are only 3 of us. It is nce an light (the Towsafe report for our car came up with all green lights), so no problems with towing (used to towing a large trailer with all the camping gear.
Our main reasons are extending our season as with a tent it is usually end of May to end of August and we have a couple of dogs which would come with us for weekends if we have a caravan.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks,
Martin

Hi
We had a Chateau 500 for a while (had bunk beds across the rear of the van) the children got bigger and heavier so had to change to a van with stronger built bunks. We loved our Chateau as it had the "nobbly" side and was very forgiving if it was accidently bumped or scratched.
We liked the "Ikea" sytle interior as it was not fussy and could easily be cleaned (we have two children and a dog).
Generally we were very pleased with the quality etc... but it had been "UKised" somewhat with the door on the "correct" side, the onboard tank removed and a Whale water pump / heater added. It did not have blown heating but we coped fine without that anyway.
I had to adapt the water outlet as it was an unusual size but a standard inline connector and some filing sorted that out.
The main awning (Ventura Atlantic) and porch awnings (Sunncamp 360) we had fitted well too.
all in all a good solid van that towed well due to long A frame.
Hope this helps
Andy
