I have a Jack Russell and she has a seat belt. I put her balnket on the back seat, strap her in and we don't hear a sound until we get where we're going. She sleeps all the way.

Jack has a back seat sling, stops him slipping off the seat also is a barrier to the front seat and I also have a seatbelt strap for him (like a lead but goes into the seat belt) 

He loves flying his ears out of the window!
