Ventilation holes under the caravan are covered in mesh, but there are often large holes in the floor where pipes or cables go though and they are not covered with mesh and mice can get in. Bung these up with silicon sealer.

We have had problems with field mice...they eat a hole in my porch awning while it was in the garage!!!

We also found signs of them in the van locker while it was in storage (stored on a farm) so we invested in one of those sonic things that run on battery power.  Cost about £10 from ebay and touch wood, have not had any problems since.  Batteries last about 3 months.

we had to get rid of a van 5 years ago due to them, we had a sprite major at the time and it was on our seasonal pitch i stirling , it was an older van but dry but they got in through the week and boy did they eat everything NOT ONE whole seat left every cushion had holes in them the very curtains had been eaten at the bottom.

it was going to cost more to replace than the van was worth so scrapped it and got our abbey.which is well siliconed up.

We had mice in the front locker only while in storage.

My own fault because I left the BBQ in there. Be warned! They ate through the bag to get to what they thought was food. Left empty handed as they only found the smell. Made a mess cr*****g all over the place!!!!

Taking the BBQ home next time.

I have just been to our van today to get it ready for the season and found the little blighters had built a nest in a plastic box I keep in the locker to keep cloths, spare bits etc in. They had chewed up a cloth and a plastic bag and made a nice little home for themselves in there. Fortunately there is no sign of them having been in the van itself but I am sure its only a matter of time. I shall have to invest in one of them sonic gizmos as it will be cheaper than having to replace a chewed cushion.
