My mum and dad have just purchased a 2002 Lunar Ultima Laser and today I have been helping them clean and tidy it up a little.  The previous owners left everything in it for them.  Will save them a fortune as there was a kettle, iron, toaster, two caravan steps, torches, 3 wind breaks, 2 camping chairs, two water barrels (but they going to buy waster master and aqua roll tomorrow)  EHU, all pots and pans, cutlery (all in excellent condition) porch awning and almost everything else they need, even down to a corkscrew   So now I have the choice of going in one of our tents or the luxury option of a van at easter, oh decisions, decisions!!

Also they want to buy an awning tomorrow for it and have seen a really good offer on a Bradcot Classic (size 960) for £499 at a local dealers ( it is a 2008 model hence lower price). It comes with alloy poles although my dad really wanted carbon but they had sold out.  Anybody have this awning? any views good or bad? Is it easy to erect?   Sorry for all these questions but he been asking me to ask you UKCS friendly lot

Sounds as though they got a good van there with all those bit's. 

I think Bradcot awnings are pretty easy to put up I think they are the ones with the 'easy up' poles. Bradcot are a very good make and that sounds a good price to me.

Hi, we have a Bradcot awning with alloy poles, very easy to assemble, my hubby can put it up in around 30 mins including pegging, he has it down to a fine art after a bit of practice.  Ours has never leaked even though we have had some pretty heavy rain last year.  Just make sure the roof is tensioned tight so that the rain does not collect on the roof.  Storm tie down straps are a good idea if you are going to be using it in this country !!!

Well they bought it today along with a new Aquaroll and Wastemaster, dad is worrying about putting it up for the first time with mum as she had a stroke about 5   years ago and obviously is not as strong as she used to be, so I have said that myself and two of my sons will go with them on their first outing with it.   There seemed to be lots of bits and bobs with it so my dad is going to try and read the instructions tonight!!!!  I have told him that if we are really struggling getting it erected i am sure that other caravanners/campers will be willing to help.

We have the Bradcot Classic, ours is the 840 I believe.  Easy to put up but we have had several of the easy up clips fail so do be careful, they are prone to just leaping off the pole with an almighty ping.  We didn't have it from new but believe it was barely used however it was bought 7 or so years ago so maybe the plastic has deteriorated.

Was up all last year in the rains we had on our seasonal pitch with no leaks.

We have a bradcot classic awning, but the bog standard poles - bloody nightmare to put up - instructions minimal, BUT our fellow 'vanners came to our aid & up it went, so don't be scared to look around the site for similar awnings & ask the owners for help, oh, & once up, get yourselves a marker pen & several rolls of different coloured tape & make up your own instructions for future before you take it down!!
