We have a 2005 fleetwood colchester 520 bought 6 months ago from a dealer. After 1st trip we noticed the floor was very soft.Took it back to dealer and with 12 months gold cover was told no problem we'll get that fixed. Was told to carry on using the van no prob till the repair is being done mid april.

Went away this weekend gone and now we have a 6 inch damp patch from ceiling to floor in front right corner of the van on side wall.Waiting for dealer to get back to me about fixing that same time as the floor.

for a 9 grand van i'm now worried that it may be a white elephant.I just wondered where i stand if things keep going wrong? Or am i just stuck with it?

                                       Cheers Deano

Sorry to hear about your damp problem.
It does not sound very clever for a 2005 'van to have damp problem so soon. Has it been a crash repaired 'van?
We paid 9 grand for our 2004 Elddis, and would be gutted if we had found damp.
I hope you have a good dealer and they are able to sort something out for you as it sounds expensive and that's when dealers start to wriggle to avoid the big payouts!

Thats awful but at least the dealer is gonna sort it for you.,imagine if you had bought it on a private sale you would have no comebacks. The repairs should have some guarantees I would think.

im not to sure with caravans & the repair of damp, how sucessfull is it?

How big of a repair is it, time wise & not having the van to use at the begging of the season.

If it was me id be looking for my money back, not fit for purpose. Id be in contact with the citizens advice ect.

Jimmy

Thanks for your replies folks.Dealer just this minute called and assured me not to worry and that whatever it takes it will all be put right. We do like the van but it doesn't exactly fill us with confidence for the future!!!!!

Knew we should have had the bailey we looked at

                                  Thanks again
