I'm sure it's covered somewhere, but I'm up in the wilds of Northumberland in the caravan, but the internet connection is so bad that searching will take several hours!!
The water won't heat up in the Truma using eletric, although the gas option works fine. The MCB and fuse is ok, but I haven't got a voltage tester with me to investigate further.
It's possible the power was switched on before the tank was filled, I'm worrying this might have damaged the element.
Ok i have done this once or wtice myself. you may have just tripped the internal electric thermostat. Turn everyhting off for a couple of hours. Then make sure the tanl is full of water and switch on again. If it is not that then not sure of the problem.
Good luck.

Yep as above, only I would empty the water out making sure the electric hot water is switched off, leave it for at least 4 hours then fill back up and put your electric water heater back on. Done it loads of times on ours,

It will work if you empty the hot water out of the tank and then refill with cold. This will reset the thermostat. It means that you must have left the water heater on when there was no water in the tank. The stat had turned itself off. Always make sure you have filled up with water before you connect to the electric or turn off water heater first.
It is not uncommon to have your hot water turned on when you couple up to the electrics , and before you have filled up the tank. As above, there is a thermotrip to protect the water heater, but this should reset itself in say 15 mins. You should n't need to leave it o /night if you don't want to. the more times you activate a thermal trip the more likely it is to trip more quickly, so don't make a habit of it.
If you are running on gas, and don't usually, DO remember to take off the flue cover outside.
All the truma heater needs if it has tripped the switch is for it to be turned off for 5 mins. Once this has been done the heater should work on electric, if it does not then there is something wrong that needs investigating by taking the boiler appart.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
The trip is a 'self hold', this means if it trips it disconnects the mains supply to the element but also connects a tiny internal element, this then keeps the stat itself hot and prevent it resetting until the mains supply is disconnected manually by you.
Where the problems arise is if you turn the heater back on before it has reset, this then reheats the internal element which of course is still connected, you then have to wait another full cooling off period and not just the remainder of the first one.
Perhaps this is why some people think it takes hours to reset? or perhaps they can stick off!!
hi you have tripped yr water element turn water heater switch off disconect electric cable from van leave about 20 mins so that any risidual electric is gone the reconnect and try again it should work i sell vans and its a common thing hope it works
