Try some of these previous threads.  They always seem to end up with - 'my movers better than your mover' type debate.

If you look at the after service and warranty, I do not think you can bear the powertouch.  I have one and love it.

The Truma TE is by far the best quality Mover for Twinny's.

Like with all the best quality products on the market, it may cost more, but you only gets what you pays for.

'but you only gets what you pays for.'

That doesn't always hold true.  Paying out the most money doesn't guarantee the best quality.  Rember you are buying basically a couple of motors, mechanical linkages and gearing and some electronics.  Its really hard to justify the incredibly high prices charged by some companies. ( unless you take into account the exchange rate and advertising budget )

The important questions to ask are:

Is there a 5 year warranty

Is the gearing nylon or proper metal gears.  Avoid nylon like the plague.

Powrtouch are owned by Truma. Truma have no intention of re-badging either products as that way Truma have footholds at both ends of the market.

We only fit Reich Movers as we NEVER have any problems with them. Truma make top quality products, but as you say, at a price.

If people want one of the cheaper products fitting we charge a premium fitting fee, as basicly, we don't want to do it. Reason being, our side of the bargain, the Installation, will always be fine. All the problems will be with the mechanics of the device, which is not our problem. But as we fitted it, customers will always ring us to sort it out when really they should be ringing whoever made the dam thing.

Hence the reason why we only fit quality products.

One of the leading ways to survive in a fierce market is to have faith in your product and have faith in your price. If you have to discount heavily like some of the Mover company's and Fitters do then you have neither.

Each to their own. If it fits your budget then all well and good. But as many of our customers have Movers fitted because of Health problems or Senior years (non of us are getting any younger), the last thing that we want is for a cheap product to fail and cause them stress.

I wouldn't expect someone who had a franchise for toyota to be singing the praises of nissan.  I am sure reich are fine but many people have no trouble at all with other makes.  It is not complex technology.  Whichever way a mover is dressed up it is simply electric motors driving rollers.

As for discounting, it is called being part of a free market economy.  You could equally say that if you have to go onto forums singing the praises of the product, then you have neither faith in product or price.

If I was trying to sell the most expensive product on the market then perhaps I would resort to trying to slight the more competitively priced opposition.

A general observation -I have seen several reich motormovers with the plastic external casings smashed , although the motors are of good quality they do seem to be positioned very close to the ground . I have spoken to people who have damaged them on speed bumps / kerbs & in 1 instance on the exit ramp of a cross channel ferry . I am happy with my carver TA euro mover it has given 7 years of service & been fitted to 4 caravans .

You are NOT very observant with your comments.

Firstly

I wouldn't expect someone who had a franchise for toyota to be singing the praises of nissan. I am sure reich are fine but many people have no trouble at all with other makes.

I was singing the praises of the Truma TE for use on a Twinny. But I DON'T fit Truma's.

Secondly

You could equally say that if you have to go onto forums singing the praises of the product, then you have neither faith in product or price.

Yes I said that I fit Reichs. But do you know who I am? No. So hardly looking for business.

Thirdly
Whichever way a mover is dressed up it is simply electric motors driving rollers.

No, not quite. Some have lightweight motor's and some have heavy duty motor's. Some are fully automated engagement and some have manual engagement. A young fit and able bodied person would probably be fine with the manual. But an elderly person or someone of ill health would be better with an fully automated Mover. So one size certainly does not fit all.

Forthly

As for discounting, it is called being part of a free market economy.

Some people base their entire business upon fitting Movers. Which is fine, but if that is your sole source of income then they will probably also sell and fit anything to anyone.

I've also been called by many owners who have complained that the rollers dressing has 'Worn Out'. But after asking a few simple question's, it soon comes out that they have actually driven off with the rollers still applied to the wheels and the dressing has just come off as it's meant to.

Regardless of which mover you have, you just can't account for bad driving..!

If mover parts are grounding on speed bumps then it is more down to poor ground clearance than poor driving.  You can account for design flaws by picking a make with better ground clearance.

As I was simply trying to offer unbiased advice to the original question, maybe the poster can make up their own mind by having a look at this document.Compare Mover's

And you can stick to starting another 'May Dad's bigger that your's debate'.
'my movers better than your mover' type debate.

The problem with the 'My Dad's bigger that your's type debate'is that the vast majority of us only ever seem to buy one in our lifetimes, so how can we compare different makes?

As far as I can tell, they all work well, so as long as they are designed for your weight/axles, then just buy the cheapest

Who has got one which is rubbish??

We had a report recently of a supplier saying Enduros are rubbish. Surprise, surprise, he didn't sell these

PS my Enduro is the best

I really and honestly couldn't care less for what you strap to your caravan.

The Poster asked for any guidance on what was the best Mover for a Twin Axle Van that weighs in at 1730kg that can deal with the slope on their driveway and I replied with the Truma TE, cause in this case, it is the best mover on the market for those requirements.

If the Poster had of said. 'What is a mediocre Mover that will push my van up a slope most of the time and is the cheapest on the market', then I would have highlighted a different machine. But they didn't. So neither did I and neither have I mentioned at any satge the price of the dam thing.

If all those that have saved a few quid want to protest that their mover's are just a good, then that's great. But that still doesn't alter the fact that the Truma TE is the best for the job that they want it to do.
