Anyone else like me ever wondered why there is not an option to go without a shower in favour of storage? I dont let anyone use the shower in the van, and we only go where there are showers on site, anyone else wondering like me.....................
If you ever wanted to sell your van, without a shower that might just be a problem, I don't use ours much but at least I have the choice, if the site is really busy, the dog dishes are in there most of the time.

You do have a point there! Urgh, I think you have just given me the reason to keep it! I will go without the storage!!! How do you keep the shower going, I would be out of water before I could wash off the shampoo!
I don't see how people can find a problem with taking a shower in their caravans. After all a 40 litre aquaroll is sufficient for myself and my daughter who has to wash her hair twice, to both shower and wash the shower round after each shower and still have water left in the aquaroll afterwards. Even then we have enough left for a kettle full.
I use mine on occasion, my friend and all the family use hers, she has an end bathroom and says whats the point having one if you dont use it?!!She has even trained the kids to swap the pump to the full barrel(she has 2) if it runs out and they also re fill them!! I use site showers, though I wear flip flops while Im in it mind you.

We never use our shower or loo although we do use the sink in the bathroom. I would have preferred extra storage. I just dont see the point of not using the facilities on site. Also, find the shower cubicle a little claustrophobic.
We have just changed our van which is a 2004 model and clearly the previous owners have used the shower, but I have noticed that the walls dont like it so much, or is there an answer to that too? We have a fixed bed model where the shower is in with the toilet.

Hi Tracey,
Can I ask why you don't use your shower?
I find ours really useful especially for the children.
I actually can't imagine not having one!
Hi, I have caravanned for a year with three small chldren. We have been away about eight times so far and I've never even seen what our shower is like when it's running. People may say that's a shame as we have an Ace Transtar with a full size walk in shower but I get in enough of a pickle at home when showering the kids! We flood the entire bathroom! I've had no problem using on site bathrooms, it's no different than using swimming pool etc when it comes to germs. Bonus oint is, it's one less thing for me to clean! Also as it's my job to refill everything and empty everything, it means less work there too.
I use our shower cubicle to store dirty washing or bedding. I also hang coast from a rail at the top of it! I would definatley prefer the option of no shower and proper additional storage instead. I know I'm not alone in this as my grandparents and parents who are all keep caravanners have never used their showers, preferring to use on site bathrooms.
I have also given up washing up in the van too, in favour of the communal area, it's easier, quicker and far more sociable!

please excuse my dodgy spelling and typing above lol! Where the lost hour has had a great effect on the kids bedtime, it's had a bad effect on my brain!

have to admit that this is the first caravan i've used the shower in as none of our previous vans had enough water pressure to run more than a trickle but mainly for my son who I didn't trust to go to the shower block on his own until last year won't use the shower in the van again unless I really have to as last year the tray broke around the plug and all the dealer did was repair and reseal it don't want to risk it going again

The ones where the shower is with the toilet.....you need most of that space to use the toilet, so you would not get much extra storage.
If you don't use the shower then buy that type rather than the type with a separate shower.
Having a decent shower means you can use the CLs and CSs and CC sites that have no facilities, so you will always find a pitch.
With a reasonable pump and the right shower head you should get a decent shower. There is plenty of water in one Aquaroll if you turn off while soaping! You will run out of hot water first.
