ok, so in my trawl of caravans I have come across this one http://www.freedomcaravans.com/caravelair-antares-luxe-496-i411.html

and it looks a good layout and even better price.  I'm pretty new to all of this and would like advice on the make, model etc.  I am really liking the looks of the Geist AK595 at the moment altough 3 bunks would be a plus as I have three children and prefer not to make any beds up for them.

 HI,I have fancied one of these caravans also,they seem good quality vans french made I think if the layout suits you I see no reason not to go for it, things to watch out for make sure you can get insurance for it,check with dealer that van is uk spec,

 ie door on nearside,also I think there is oniy Freedom or Highbridge caravans deal with them. Its too far away for me I,m in NE Scotland or I would have bought one!

Make sure you fully check the spec, i.e. no oven just a grill and it only comes with a 2 year warranty,

I know some people have also had issues with trade in on these as some dealers won't touch them as they are pretty rare,

I must admit I am hankering after a Geist or a Hymer next as the build quality is excellent. The AK565 (Geist) would be quite a good layout I feel as you could opt to have the additional bunk in and leave it up all the time if you wanted, that would then make it a six berth with a huge bathroom at the back

I must admit I'm really keen on the Geist aswell, the twin axel one, is it a 595 I forget.  Am going to talk hubby into going to view one in Lincoln soon :)

Will be very jealous if you get one!! They aren't bad prices at all either for German build quality.
